Ibadan is Long Overdue for Development.- Chief Abdullahi Abiola Alli, President Omo Ajorosun Club, Ibadan.

Chief Abdullahi Abiola Alli, President Omo Ajorosun Club Ibadan recently has defended reasons why Ibadan, the great and most populous metropolitan city in Africa is long overdue for development.

President Omo Ajorosun Club Ibadan Chief Abdullahi Abiola Alli cited several reasons to buttress up his defense that Ibadan being an agelong seat of political activities for the Yorubaland, so also serves as a metropolitan city of attraction to different people from several tribes in Nigeria, who have been directly and indirectly got lured into the the city for sojourn and exploits, in seeking for their means of daily livelihood, yet many have seen the city as an esteemable and admirable place suitable to undergo their educational pursuits, the accomplishment of their careers and political orientation and adventures, as some have passed through these to greater heights in their field of professions and political experiences while others are still in the mainstream of political activities in Nigeria.

However, Chief Abdullahi Abiola Alli enunciated that the presence of several monumental edifices like Cocoa House, University College Hospital, University of Ibadan, National Television Authority, Research Institutes to mention few has even added more values to the great beauty and power Ibadan has since the days of yore, to have made Ibadan more eligible to deserve a state now.

On this the prominent and accomplished banker, Chartered Accountant and distinguished administrator Chief Abdullahi Abiola Alli further adduced the fact that considering what qualifies a big city like Ibadan for a state of its own should have, could not be a gainsay that aside both human and natural resources Ibadan has in abundance, the great metropolitan city Ibadan has enough virtues, values and advantages to its side, that made Ibadan has more than enough requirement, to earn it a state of its own, under the present civilian regime of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Chief A. A. Alli showed his conviction and elation that Ibadan being long overdue for development, that it has been a welcome occurrence for how some high chiefs have been elevated to the status of royal highness, this he commended, that it would add more glamour, respect and dignity to the position of His Imperial Majesty Olubadan of Ibadanland, which he considered to be a part of the long over due development Ibadan indigenes had awaited for many years past and that it is a part of what could be the requirement, for the attainment of an Ibadan State, hence he lauded the effort and involvement of several prominent, illustrious and successful Ibadan indigenes, who are both at home and diaspora, who have contributed one way or the other to the achievement of the elevation of these High Chiefs to the status of Royal Highnesses.

Nevertheless, he commended the present Oyo State Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde, for his wisdom and acumen to have seen the cogent reason for such development and thus agreed to the ratification of the application from His Imperial Majesty Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Mohood Isola Olalelekan Balogun for the elevation of the High Chiefs to the status of Royal Highnesses.

By and Large, he described such development as a tip of the iceberg ,for more apt, right and great development to become of Ibadanland soonest, as time through days unfolds towards the process of making Ibadan State attainable.
