At Ibadan Boys High School Old Boys Association Annual General Meeting and Award to Deserving ex-Students and Set event held on Saturday 4th February, 2017 inside T.L Oyesina Hall of the school; Chief Bode Amoo unflinching support for the association was incomparably described as pillar of support and a worthy fatherly assistance, given to the continual existence of the association of successful and promising sets of the old students of the school, who are already captains in their various fields.
The event which took off as slated was graced by successful and distinguished guests among who some of the old students who are achievers in their various disciplines were present.
However, the occasion through which the display of the contributions of these old students were described as unique, supportive, monumental for the rejuvenation of the school for good, also attracted the presence of the Oyo State Commissioner of Education;Professor Olowofela, who was present throughout the occasion and later informed the crop of journalists that interviewed him that aside what the Oyo State Government has done; for the school out of the special plan and programme of the Oyo State Government to contribute its own quota of support ,to help bring the school to an enviable and quintessential standard, the Oyo State Government still has in the pipeline some special programmes and policies to bring education to a level of appreciation among its members of states in Nigeria generally.
Otunba Reuben Famuyibo; the National Secretary of the association eulogized on the sheer virtues of Chief Bode Amoo; the National President, who had often-time bent over backwards, to see that the association and school is never lack in what are essentially educational, to bring the school outstandingly to the forefront of other schools in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, amidst the pleasant spirits and atmosphere by which the old students interacted and played their roles to make the occasion worthwhile, the Director of Magdamade; Chief Sesan Adeleye, Rear Admiral Adetokunbo Abdulateef Akintola, Surveyor Lekan Dojutelegan Aderemi, Honourable Akintola Opeyemi, Mr. Raheed Kazeem; a U.K. based business-man in absential; with her sister present at the occasion, Chief Ekemefuna Sunday; a friend to the old students and Engineer Kamil Olalekan from Kwara who together with the aforementioned distinguished guests and old students were described to have done well in the development of the school immeasurably, yet they bemoaned that despite the fact that the olden days standard of education was superb, qualitative and of the best value they are ready to give in their best, to see that the school and education generally in Oyo State and Nigeria is taken to a lofty height of attainment, appreciation and status, for the sake of the coming generation and posterity.
